The Oklahoma Bass Federation has named their 12-man state team members after competition during our six qualifying tournaments. The competitors fish two days on three different weekends and count points accumulated from their top four days. The lakes selected by our 2010 Board of Directors were Texoma, March, Eufaula, April, and Ft. Gibson, May. Due to flooding conditions, Ft. Gibson was replaced by Eufaula for our last event.
The OBF State team will be led by State Champion Kirk Reinke, Chickasha Bassmasters, who squeaked by Jackie Husman, Ponca City Bassmasters, by one point (395 to 394, respectively). Stewart Ryan, Ada Bassmasters, and John Garcia, Bedlam Bass Club, tied for the third and fourth place with 393 points. The other two boaters to finish in the top 6 were Gene Vogt with 386 points, one point ahead of Jody Linder. Gene and Jody are both Ponca City Bassmasters. The non-boaters were Curtis Bryan, Bedlam Bass Club, Sandy Hooker, Ponca City, Don Linder, Ponca City, Dwain Short, Ponca City, Brandon Beck, Ada Bassmasters, and tying for 12th place was Doss Briggs and Jack Garrett, both from 3 Rivers Bassmasters/Muskogee. Jack will participate as an angler while State Treasurer, Doss Briggs, will be our Team Captain.
The team will compete against seven neighboring state teams June 22-24, 2011. The tournament will be held on Wilson Lake near Russell, Kansas. The top two anglers from each state will qualify to compete in the 2012 National TBF Tournament presented by the National Guard. The highest finishing boater and non-boater at the National TBF tournament will receive an entry free invitation to the $1 million BFL All- American. The National Champion boater and non-boater will automatically be entered into the $2 million Forrest Wood Cup. The National Champion will also receive the “Living the Dream” package.

The 2012 Qualifying Tournament lakes have been selected by the BOD. The lakes selected were Texoma, Grand and Eufaula. Anyone wanting to participate contact the OBF and we will help you start a club or get you into one of our local clubs.
