2012 Schedule Announced

OKLAHOMA BASS FEDERATION ANNOUNCES 2012 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

The Oklahoma Bass Federation Tournament Director, Gene Vogt, announced the 2012 tournament events schedule at our December, 10, 2011 Board of Directors meeting. The schedule includes our State Qualifiers, the State Top 6 Tournament, and a proposed Oklahoma Buddy State Tournament.

The OBF State qualifiers are the path to becoming a member of our 12 man State Team that will compete at the 2012 Central Division Tournament. This year’s Divisional will be held in June at a location in Louisiana to be announced later. Our top angler at the Divisional event will qualify for the 2013 National Bass Federation Championship with our runner-up qualifying for the TBF Nationals as a non-boater. There will be 3 qualifiers this next year with the first being on Lake Texoma, March 17 and 18. (All of our qualifier lakes will be off limits starting the Monday prior to the tournament, with Thursday and Friday practice). The second event is scheduled for Grand Lake, April 21 and 22, the final tournament at Lake Eufaula, May 12 and 13.

Entry for the qualifiers is $150 for boaters and $75 for non-boaters. Any boater, accompanied by a non-boater, will be guaranteed “boater” status during our tournament pairings. Points will be accumulated for each event; with the anglers with the top four-day totals of the six days will determine the members of the team as well as our 2012 OBF State Champion.

During this year’s three events, in addition to team qualifying points, our 2012 SQT's will feature a payback for both the boater and non-boater at each event. Each weekend, the boater with the largest stringer will receive a bonus of $300 while the non-boater will pocket $200. This adds $1500 pay-out for the three combined events and was made possible due to personal donations.

The OBF 2012 State Team Top 6 Championship will be on Lake Eufaula, September 28 and 29. Off limits for this event is the same as the qualifiers. There is no entry fee for this tournament; the only requirement is that all teams and contestants are current members of the OBF.

The OBF will host a Oklahoma State Buddy Team championship September 21 or 22 on Eufaula Lake. Details for that tournament will be forthcoming at a later date. The event is scheduled to be a two person per boat with a 3 fish limit.
