OKLAHOMA BASS FEDERATION ANNOUNCES 2012 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The Oklahoma Bass Federation Tournament Director, Gene Vogt, announced the 2012 tournament events schedule at our December, 10, 2011 Board of Directors meeting. The schedule includes our State Qualifiers, the State Top 6 Tournament, and a proposed Oklahoma Buddy State Tournament.
The OBF State qualifiers are the path to becoming a member of our 12 man State Team that will compete at the 2012 Central Division Tournament. This year’s Divisional will be held in June at a location in Louisiana to be announced later. Our top angler at the Divisional event will qualify for the 2013 National Bass Federation Championship with our runner-up qualifying for the TBF Nationals as a non-boater. There will be 3 qualifiers this next year with the first being on Lake Texoma, March 17 and 18. (All of our qualifier lakes will be off limits starting the Monday prior to the tournament, with Thursday and Friday practice). Ponca City, Oct. 2, 2011. The inaugural Student Angler Federation (SAF) Oklahoma High School Fishing Championship was held Saturday, October 1, 2011 on Sooner Lake located in North Central Oklahoma. Fishing was extremely tough with a clear blue sky and essentially no wind. The team of Jenna Beam, the Oklahoma Bass Federation Junior 15- 18 State Champion, and partner Gage Watson of the Ponca City Wildcat Anglers outdistanced Dalton Lee and Brady Burr by 1 pound and 12 ounces to claim the State Championship title. Dalton and Brady were also members of the Po High Anglers. Third place went to team Jacob Lewis and Alex Meadows of the Ponca City High School Club. Jenna and Gage will represent Oklahoma at the SFA Regional Championship on Sommerville Lake located near College Station, TX. The SAF regional tournament will be held in conjuction with the Collegiate Regional tournament. Congratulations to Kirk Reinke - Chickasha Bassmasters, 2011 OBF State Champion
After three months and six tournaments, Kirk Reinke, Chickasha Bassmaster, walked away with his first State Championship. Kirk's top four tournaments included a first place finish, two seconds, and a fourth for a total of 395 out of a possible 400. Kirk will lead the Oklahoma Bass Federation 12 man team competing at the Central Division tournament June 22-24. The Divisional tournament will be held on Wilson Lake at Russell, Kansas
Jenna Beam & Trevor Owens Named 2011 OK Junior State Champs
The Oklahoma Bass Federation 2011 Youth State Championship was held Sunday, May 15 on Lake Ponca, Ponca City, OK. The competing age groups were the 11-14 Division and the 15-18 Division.
Trevor Owens, Ponca City Junior Bassmasters, won the 11-14 division with a 5 fish limit weighing 12.63 pounds. Second in the junior age group was three time State Champion Matt Hazenfranz with the only other limit in that division. Hazenfranz is also a Ponca City Junior Bassmaster member.
Jenna Beam, Ponca City Junior Bassmasters, won the the Oklahoma Bass Federation 2011 Championship 15 -18 year old youth division championship on Sunday, May 15 at Lake Ponca in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She won with a 5 fish limit weighing 10.63 pounds, with a 3.5 pounder coming in the final 30 minutes of competition. Jenna edged 2009 State Champion Tyler Dennis, 3 Rivers Junior Bassmasters, who had the only other limit in the tournament. Read More

2011 Oklahoma Solar Bat Big Bass Awards
The Oklahoma Bass Federation awarded the 2011 Big Bass Award to the angler at each of our three qualifying tournament weekends weighing in the biggest bass.
The biggest bass caught this year was 6 lbs 15 oz by Jackie Husman at Texoma. The first Eufaula winner was Shawn Lewis and the Ft. Gibson/Eufaula finale was Dwain Short. All three anglers received a stylish pair of solar bat, polarized, pair of sunglasses.
